Quan is the house brand of Auto Care Genius — the concentrated, pro-grade chemical line we formulate for the same wheels, paint, glass, and interiors we detail every week in Florida. This guide covers every retail Quan product we make: what each one is, the problem it solves, exactly how to use it (with the real dilution ratios), and who it's for. Bookmark it — this is the master reference for the entire line.
Quick Answer
The Quan line is a complete detailing system: Brown or AcidX for wheels, Pink, Green, or Purple for washing, Blue, Orange, or Clear for tires, Purge for iron decon, and Armor to seal it all in. Most bottles are concentrates, so cost per wash is a fraction of ready-to-use sprays. Browse everything in the Quan Collection.
What Is Quan?
Quan is Auto Care Genius' own line of detailing chemicals, built for professionals first: high-volume car washes, mobile detailers, and shops that buy by the case or the drum — and for weekend detailers who want that same chemistry in a 32 oz bottle. Nearly everything in the line is concentrated. A single quart of AcidX makes up to 7 gallons of ready-to-use wheel cleaner; Gleam glass cleaner dilutes 1:30; Purple ceramic shampoo runs at 1:128. That is the whole point of the brand: pro-grade results at the lowest cost per wash we can engineer.
The line is color-coded so a wash bay can run it without reading labels twice — Pink is your soap, Brown cleans wheels, Blue shines tires, Red degreases. Most products ship in 32 oz bottles, 1-gallon and 5-gallon sizes, and 55-gallon drums for commercial accounts, with many formulas made in the USA. Everything below is organized the same way we'd walk you through the shelf in our shop.

Build Your Routine: The Quan Wash-Day Order of Operations
Quan products are designed to layer as a system. Here is the order we run on wash day — each step preps the surface for the next:
- Wheels first. Spray Quan Brown (diluted 4:1) on cool wheels and tires, dwell 30–60 seconds, agitate if needed, rinse. Step up to diluted AcidX only for neglected, baked-on wheels.
- Decon (periodic). A few times a year — or before any coating — mist Quan Purge on paint, wheels, and glass, watch it turn purple as it dissolves iron, then rinse after 2–3 minutes.
- Spot cleanup. Hit bug splatter with BugX and tar or sticker residue with Detach before the wash so the soap can finish the job.
- Wash. Two-bucket wash, top down: Pink (5 oz per 5 gallons) for a pure clean, Green if you want carnauba wax in the same pass, or Purple (1 oz per gallon) if the car is ceramic coated.
- Glass. Wipe all glass with Gleam at 1:30 — ammonia-free, so tint is safe.
- Dress tires. Pick your finish: Blue for wet-look gloss, Orange for zero sling, Clear for silicone-free, or water-based Finish for adjustable shine.
- Protect. Mist Armor onto damp panels and wipe — SiO₂ beading protection in under 10 minutes. Maintain between washes with Lustre or a full waterless pass of EcoX.
- Reset your towels. Launder everything in Quan Wash so tomorrow's towels are as safe as today's.
Wheels & Tires
Wheels are where Quan built its reputation, and the split is simple: acid-free for routine cleaning, true acid for restoration. If you're not sure which side of that line you're on, our acid vs. acid-free wheel cleaner guide settles it, and our best wheel cleaner roundup ranks the whole shelf.
Quan AcidX — Heavy-Duty Acid Wheel Cleaner
AcidX is the strongest cleaner we make: a highly concentrated mineral-acid formula (pH <1) that dissolves baked-on brake dust, oxidation, iron deposits, and salt corrosion without endless scrubbing. It's the restoration tool for wheels that acid-free cleaners won't budge, and the workhorse behind high-volume wash bays — one 32 oz bottle makes up to 7 gallons of ready-to-use solution, and it ships all the way up to 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums by special order.
Use it diluted, always: start at 1:10 for brake dust and road grime, and step up to 1:5 only for heavily oxidized or neglected wheels. Spray on cool wheels, dwell 30–60 seconds, agitate stubborn spots with a soft brush, and rinse thoroughly — never let it dry. It's safe on most aluminum, chrome, magnesium, and nonferrous wheels when properly diluted, but keep it off glass, polished aluminum, and anodized or uncoated finishes; that's Quan Brown territory. Wear gloves and eye protection.
Heavy-Duty Pick
Quan AcidX — $16.99 / 32 oz
Concentrated acid wheel cleaner for baked-on brake dust and oxidation. One bottle makes up to 7 gallons ready-to-use.
Shop NowQuan Brown — Acid-Free Tire & Wheel Cleaner
Brown is the wheel cleaner most people should buy first. It's a concentrated, acid-free formula that dissolves brake dust, road grime, and tire browning on factory painted, clear-coated, and chrome wheels — and it moonlights as a whitewall brightener, engine bay cleaner, and bug remover. Because there's no acid, there's no anxiety about splashing it on the wrong finish.
Dilute 4:1 (4 parts water to 1 part product), spray onto cool wheels and tires, let it dwell 30–60 seconds, and rinse — it often cleans with little to no scrubbing. Keep it off uncoated polished aluminum and anodized wheels, never apply to hot surfaces, and don't let it dry. At $14.99 for a concentrate, it's the best cost-per-wheel value in the store.
Best All-Around Value
Quan Brown Acid-Free Tire & Wheel Cleaner — $14.99 / 32 oz
Acid-free deep cleaning for wheels, tires, whitewalls, and engine bays. Dilute 4:1, spray, dwell, rinse.
Shop NowQuan Purge — Iron & Decon Remover
Purge is our color-changing iron remover: a pH-neutral reactive gel that clings to vertical panels, wheel faces, and barrels, then turns a striking purple as it dissolves embedded brake dust, rail dust, and industrial fallout. Because it's pH-neutral, it's safe on paint, glass, wheels, stainless, chrome, and clear-coated aluminum — which makes it the decontamination step before polishing or ceramic coating, and the safest way to deep-clean coated wheels.
Shake well, spray liberally on a wet, cool surface, let it dwell 2–3 minutes while the purple bleed shows you exactly where the iron was, agitate if needed, and rinse thoroughly. Skip anodized aluminum and anything not clear-coated, and never let it dry in the sun. See how it stacks up against CarPro IronX and the rest in our iron decon product roundup.
Decon Essential
Quan Purge Iron & Decon Remover — $24.99 / 32 oz
pH-neutral gel that turns purple as it dissolves iron from paint, wheels, and glass. The pre-coating decon step.
Shop NowQuan Blue — High-Gloss Tire Shine
Blue is the flagship tire dressing — a solvent-based silicone formula that lays down a deep, wet-look gloss with water-resistant durability and UV protection to fight browning and cracking. It's the finish customers point at, and the top pick in our 2026 tire shine test.
Clean and dry the tire first (Brown handles that), then apply evenly with a foam applicator or a light mist. Let it dry fully before driving to prevent sling, and if you prefer a satin look, buff the excess with a clean microfiber. It also dresses rubber moldings and exterior trim — just keep it off paint and glass. For the full pro application method, read our how to apply tire shine guide.
Top Gloss Pick
Quan Blue Tire Shine — $21.99 / 32 oz
Deep wet-look gloss with UV protection and water-resistant durability. Our #1 tire shine.
Shop NowQuan Orange — Slingless Tire Shine
Orange exists for one reason: sling. It's a ready-to-use, solvent-based dressing built on advanced silicone technology that bonds tightly to the tire, so the wet look stays on the sidewall instead of freckling your fenders at highway speed — and it outlasts typical solvent dressings while doing it. If you've been burned by dressing spatter before, this is your bottle.
Apply to clean, dry tires with a foam applicator or a light mist, let it dry fully before driving, and buff with a microfiber if you want to knock the gloss down. It's highly flammable — use it in a ventilated area away from heat and flame.
Quan Orange Tire Shine Slingless — $23.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowQuan Clear — Non-Silicone Tire Shine
Clear is the body-shop-friendly dressing: a solvent-based but completely silicone-free formula for environments where silicone contamination would ruin a paint job — or for detailers who simply don't want silicones on the car. It restores deep color and gloss to tires and trim with the same water resistance and UV defense as its siblings.
Apply a thin, even coat to clean, dry rubber with a foam applicator, allow 5–10 minutes to dry before moving the vehicle, and buff any excess for a lower-gloss finish. If your shop sprays paint anywhere on the property, this is the only tire dressing that should be in the building.
Quan Clear Tire Shine Non-Silicone — $21.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowQuan Finish — Dress All Concentrated Water-Based Dressing
Finish is the utility dressing of the line — a concentrated, water-based silicone dressing that restores and protects tires, vinyl, rubber, leather, plastic, and engine bays, drying to the touch with UV protection against fading and cracking. Because it's water-based and dilutable, it's the one dressing that works inside and outside the car.
The shine is adjustable: dilute 50/50 with water for a natural OEM gloss, or run it full strength for higher shine. Clean the surface first, apply with an applicator or sprayer, wipe off the excess, and let it dry. For dressing a whole engine bay or a fleet's worth of interiors, the concentrate math makes it the cheapest per panel.
Quan Finish Dress All — $21.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowWash & Shampoo
Three soaps, three jobs. All are hyper-concentrated bucket soaps — a few ounces per wash — so a single quart lasts months of weekly washes.
Quan Pink — Car Soap Concentrated
Pink is the everyday soap: a hyper-concentrated, pH-neutral shampoo with dense, clingy foam that lifts dirt and road grime fast while staying gentle on every exterior surface — including existing wax and sealant layers. It rinses completely clean for a spot-free, streak-free, high-gloss finish when you dry properly.
Mix 5 oz per 5 gallons of water, pre-rinse the car, wash top to bottom with a clean mitt, rinse, and dry with a plush microfiber. Wash on cool panels and don't let the suds dry on the paint. If you only buy one Quan soap, buy this one.
Everyday Soap
Quan Pink Car Soap Concentrated — $16.99 / 32 oz
Dense foam, pH-neutral, 5 oz per 5-gallon bucket. The safe weekly wash for every finish.
Shop NowQuan Green — Wash & Wax Concentrated
Green does two jobs in one bucket: a hyper-concentrated shampoo enhanced with premium carnauba wax, so every wash leaves a layer of gloss and protection behind. The high-lubricity formula lets your mitt glide safely across the paint, and it rinses effortlessly to a streak-free shine — ideal for daily drivers that get washed more often than they get waxed.
Same easy math as Pink: 5 oz per 5 gallons of water. Rinse the car first to loosen dirt, wash top down, rinse, and dry. At $14.99 for a concentrate that cleans and waxes simultaneously, it's one of the best values in the entire store.
Quan Green Wash & Wax — $14.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowQuan Purple — Ceramic Shampoo pH Neutral
Purple is the soap for coated cars. It's a high-foaming, pH-balanced shampoo engineered to clean ceramic-coated vehicles without degrading the coating — and it actually helps rejuvenate the coating's hydrophobic beading behavior with each wash. If you've invested in a ceramic coating, this is the maintenance soap that protects that investment.
It's the most concentrated soap we sell: 1 oz per gallon of water (1:128), in a bucket or foam cannon. Pre-rinse, wash with a clean mitt, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a plush towel for a spot-free finish. One quart makes 32 gallons of wash solution — do that math against any ready-to-use "ceramic soap" on a shelf.
Quan Purple Ceramic Shampoo — $17.99 / 32 oz

Exterior Protection & Detailers
Quan Armor — Ceramic Shielding
Armor is the protection step of the Quan system: an SiO₂-infused spray sealant that beads water on contact, adds real gloss, and lasts up to 6 months per application. Because contamination struggles to stick to the slick surface it leaves behind, it also makes your next wash roughly twice as fast — the closest thing to a cheat code for weekly maintenance.
Application is the easy part: mist it onto a damp panel right after the rinse, wipe with a microfiber, and move to the next panel. Glossy, beading protection on the whole car in under 10 minutes — no cure lights, no leveling, no panel wipes. It's the ideal first sealant for anyone not ready for a full ceramic coating, and the maintenance topper for anyone who is.
Protection Pick
Quan Armor Ceramic Shielding — $23.99 / 32 oz
SiO₂ spray sealant — mist on a damp panel, wipe, done. Beads for up to 6 months.
Shop NowQuan Lustre — Detailer with Carnauba Wax
Lustre is the between-washes bottle: a spray-and-wipe quick detailer built on real carnauba wax. It instantly boosts gloss, clears light dust, fingerprints, and smudges, and leaves a thin protective layer behind as you wipe. It's safe on paint, chrome, glass, and vinyl trim — one bottle handles the whole exterior touch-up.
Work on a cool surface, one section at a time: light mist, then buff with a dry microfiber. Pro tip from our own bays: diluted 50/50 with water, Lustre doubles as an excellent clay bar lubricant, which makes it two products in one $14.99 bottle. It's flammable — keep it out of direct sun and away from heat while you work.
Quan Lustre Detailer — $14.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowQuan EcoX — Waterless Quick Detailer 3-in-1 Wash
EcoX is a full wash with zero water: a high-lubricity waterless formula that cleans, shines, and lays down a hydrophobic protective layer in a single step. The lubricants encapsulate dirt and grit so they lift off the paint instead of dragging across it — which is the entire trick to washing a car scratch-free without a hose. It's built for condos, garages, water-restricted areas, and mobile detailers who bill by the minute.
Work in the shade on a cool panel: spray generously, wipe in one direction with a plush microfiber, then buff with a second dry towel to a streak-free gloss. For heavily soiled cars, pre-rinse if you can or rotate through extra towels. Not sure when waterless is the right call? Our waterless vs. rinseless vs. traditional wash guide breaks down exactly where the line is.
Quan EcoX Waterless 3-in-1 — $19.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowCleanup & Removal
The problem-solvers: grease, grime, bugs, tar, glue, and shop cleanup. For a deeper dive on the first two, see our automotive degreaser & APC guide.
Quan Red Pure — Heavy-Duty Degreaser & All-Purpose
Red Pure is the muscle: a concentrated degreaser and all-purpose cleaner for the jobs regular APCs bounce off — engine bays, wheel wells, greasy tires, and even seats and carpets when properly diluted. It cuts grease, road film, and stubborn buildup with a short dwell and a quick agitation.
Dilute 1:4 for routine cleaning, or go full strength on heavy grease. Spray, let it dwell briefly, agitate with a brush, and rinse thoroughly — never on hot surfaces, and never left to dry. Respect this one: it's corrosive at full strength, so wear gloves and eye protection. At $11.99 it's the cheapest bottle in the line and arguably the hardest working.
Quan Red Pure HD Degreaser — $11.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowQuan Wave — All-Purpose Cleaner
Wave is the everyday APC — gentler than Red Pure and safe on plastic, rubber, metal, and glass, which makes it the one bottle that handles dashboards, door panels, exterior trim, and general shop cleanup without leaving residue behind. If Red Pure is the sledgehammer, Wave is the multi-tool you reach for ten times a detail.
Use it full strength on heavy soils, or dilute 1:10 for everyday interior maintenance. Spray, wipe with a clean cloth, done — no streaks, no buildup. For interiors especially, the 1:10 dilution turns one quart into nearly three gallons of ready-to-use cleaner.
Quan Wave All-Purpose Cleaner — $14.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowQuan BugX — Insect & Grime Remover
BugX is a dedicated insect remover that breaks down fresh and dried bug splatter on contact — a Florida essential, because acidic bug remains can start etching clear coat within a day or two in summer heat. Instead of scrubbing baked-on bugs with soap (and marring the paint), BugX softens the residue so it wipes or rinses away.
Use it as a pre-wash treatment on the bumper, hood, mirrors, and windshield frame before the bucket comes out. During love bug season, it also anchors our Love Bug Defense Kit — more on that in the Kits section below.
Quan BugX Insect & Grime Remover — $12.99 / 32 oz
Shop NowQuan Detach — Adhesive Remover
Detach is the ready-to-use solvent that erases the stuff washing can't touch: sticker residue, old badge and molding adhesive, tape marks, road tar on lower panels, and grease spots. It's fast-acting and streak-free on painted and chrome surfaces, which makes it the standard cleanup step after debadging or removing body side moldings.
Apply with a clean cloth, let it dwell a few minutes, and gently work the residue off — no dilution needed. Always test an inconspicuous spot first, and follow up with a Pink wash to strip any solvent film. It's highly flammable, so work ventilated and away from heat. Sold in shop-friendly gallon sizes.
Quan Detach Adhesive Remover — $44.99 / 1 gallon
Shop NowQuan Fuse — Lacquer Paint Thinner & Cleaner
Fuse is the shop-side specialist: a lacquer thinner solvent blend for cleaning brushes, guns, and equipment, with a medium evaporation rate that supports good flow-out and blush resistance in coating workflows. It's not a detailing chemical you put on a customer's car — it's what keeps a paint-and-body operation's tools working.
Use it for equipment cleanup as needed; for thinning coatings, only follow the coating manufacturer's dilution instructions. It's highly flammable — ventilated area, away from heat and flame, stored tightly closed.
Quan Fuse Lacquer Thinner & Cleaner — $27.99 / 1 gallon
Shop NowGlass
Quan Gleam — Glass Cleaner Concentrated
Gleam is a professional-strength, ammonia-free glass cleaner that cuts through road film, fingerprints, oils, and interior haze for genuinely streak-free glass. No ammonia means it's safe on tinted windows, navigation screens, and mirrors — the surfaces where a typical household glass cleaner does real damage. It's also aggressively concentrated: 1:30, so one quart makes over 7 gallons of ready-to-use cleaner.
Dilute 1:30, spray directly onto exterior glass, and for interiors, spray onto the towel instead to keep overspray off the dash. Use the two-towel method — one to clean, one to buff dry — for a flawless finish. See how it earned its spot in our best glass cleaner roundup.
Quan Gleam Glass Cleaner — $24.99 / 32 oz

Quan Scents — Concentrated Liquid Air Freshener
Quan Scents is the wash-bay air freshener that actually pencils out: a concentrated liquid where one 4 oz bottle makes a full gallon of ready-to-use freshener. It comes in nine scents — Piña Colada, Strawberry, Wild Cherry, Fresh Linen, Baby Powder, Leather, Green Apple, Cool Water, and New Car — so shops can offer customers a menu without stocking a shelf of aerosols.
For detailers, it's a finishing touch that costs pennies per car; for wash operations, it's a per-vehicle upsell in a bottle. Pick two or three scents, dilute into labeled sprayers, and make it the last step of every interior.
Quan Scents (9 scents) — $14.99 / 4 oz (makes 1 gallon)
Shop NowQuan Wash — Microfiber Laundry Detergent
Your towels are the last thing that touches the paint, and a towel clogged with old wax and compound is a scratch waiting to happen. Quan Wash is a specialized microfiber detergent that lifts embedded wax, sealant, and polishing-compound residue out of the fibers without clogging them, then rinses completely clean so towels stay soft, absorbent, and swirl-free.
Use 1–2 oz per load (2–3 oz for compound-heavy loads) in warm water, with no fabric softener and no bleach; tumble dry low or hang. For rescue cases, pre-soak with 1 oz in a 5-gallon bucket for up to an hour first. Full towel-care protocol in our how to wash microfiber towels guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who makes Quan products?
Quan is the house brand of Auto Care Genius, a detailing supplier based in Kissimmee, Florida. Many Quan formulas are made in the USA, and most products are sold from 32 oz bottles all the way up to 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon commercial drums.
Are Quan products professional grade?
Yes — the line is built for high-volume car washes, mobile detailers, and shops first, then bottled in retail sizes. Most products are concentrates: AcidX makes up to 7 gallons per quart, Gleam dilutes 1:30, and Purple ceramic shampoo runs at 1:128, which is why the cost per wash beats ready-to-use retail sprays.
What is the difference between Quan Blue, Orange, and Clear tire shine?
All three are solvent-based dressings with UV protection. Blue is the high-gloss wet-look pick, Orange bonds tightly for a sling-free, long-lasting finish, and Clear is silicone-free for body shop environments. Water-based Finish adds an adjustable-shine option that also works on interior surfaces.
Should I use Quan Brown or Quan AcidX on my wheels?
Start with Brown — acid-free, diluted 4:1, safe on painted, clear-coated, and chrome wheels. Reserve AcidX (diluted 1:10, or 1:5 for the worst cases) for baked-on, oxidized, or neglected wheels — and never use acid on polished aluminum or anodized finishes.
Which Quan car soap should I use?
Pink is the pH-neutral everyday soap, Green adds carnauba wax as you wash, and Purple is formulated for ceramic-coated vehicles at a 1:128 dilution. All three are bucket-soap concentrates.
How long does Quan Armor last?
Quan Armor lasts up to 6 months per application. Mist it onto a damp panel after rinsing, wipe with a microfiber, and the SiO₂ layer beads water on contact — making your next wash roughly twice as fast.
