A bare unit is the machine alone — the right buy if you already own a gun, hose and nozzles you like. A kit adds the spray gun, wand, foam blaster, nozzles and hose, so it washes a car the day it lands; buy this if you are stepping up from a garden hose. A bundle starts from the bare unit and adds a specific upgrade — a foam cannon sized for the machine, an 8-piece quick connect set, or a longer hose and drying towel. Which MAXFLOW is best for washing cars?
The MPro 25 Gen 2 for most people — 1500 PSI and 2.5 GPM is the balance point where you get fast rinsing and thick foam without pressure that threatens trim and badges. If you wash several vehicles a day, step up to the DDM at 3.3 GPM. The MX3 is the wrong tool for delicate paint — its 2500 PSI is aimed at commercial work.
Is higher PSI always better?
No — and for car detailing it is often worse. PSI cuts, GPM rinses. Washing a car is mostly rinsing, so the 3.3 GPM DDM finishes a vehicle faster than the 2500 PSI MX3 despite having less pressure. Reach for high PSI when grime is genuinely baked on: fleet vehicles, equipment, wheel wells and concrete.
Will a MAXFLOW run a foam cannon?
Yes. The MPro 25 Gen 2 and DDM have plenty of flow for any cannon in our foam cannons range. The MX3 needs more care: at 1.2 GPM it sits at the low end of most cannons' working range, so pick a cannon with a smaller orifice. That is exactly why the MX3 + Professional Foam Cannon bundle exists — the MFC1 includes four orifices from 1.1 to 1.5 mm so you can size down and still get thick foam instead of wet drizzle.
What does the DDM's 15A/20A power mode selector do?
It lets one machine run on either a normal household circuit or a dedicated 20A circuit. The DDM is supplied with a NEMA 5-20P GFCI plug and operates in 15A mode by default. Full 20A performance requires a direct connection to a properly installed 20A receptacle and intentional activation of 20A mode. Never operate 20A mode through an adapter.
Can I run a MAXFLOW from a water tank instead of a tap?
The MX3 will draw from a gravity-fed supply, but it does not self-prime — the tank has to sit above the inlet so water reaches the pump on its own. Plan your mobile rig around that before buying, and check the manual for your specific machine.
Do MAXFLOW machines need oil?
The pumps are oil-change serviceable, which is a large part of why they last — most consumer washers have sealed pumps you simply replace. Note the MPro Gen 2 ships without oil, so check the manual and fill before first use rather than assuming it arrived ready to run.
How long do the pumps last?
The MX3 and MPro 25 Gen 2 pumps are rated for 300 hours; the DDM is rated for 800 hours — nearly triple. Every machine carries a 3-year limited warranty. If you run a mobile or shop operation daily, that duty rating is the number to compare, not the price.
Will the quick connect bundle fit my existing gear?
The 8-piece stainless kit is M22-14mm. It will not fit M22-15mm equipment — the threads look nearly identical but the inner diameter differs, and this is the single most common fitting mistake. Measure before you buy, and browse loose quick connect plugs and sockets in 1/4" and 3/8" if you need to mix and match.
