Symplex Interior & Leather Care — Cleaners, Dressings and Glass

Six products cover a complete interior: one dilutable cleaner for carpet, upholstery, plastic, vinyl and headliners; a pH-balanced leather cleaner and a beeswax-and-carnauba treatment to follow it; a non-silicone dressing that leaves a factory matte instead of a greasy shine; a shop APC that dilutes from interior-safe to heavy degreasing; and a tint-safe automotive glass cleaner. Most run in quart, gallon and 5-gallon pail, and the concentrates go a very long way.

Two specifications separate professional interior chemicals from retail ones, and Symplex leads with both: pH balance on the leather products, because pushing leather's pH in either direction strips the topcoat and starts the cracking a customer notices a year later, and non-silicone on the dressing, because silicone is what produces windshield glare, dust attraction and the greasy look customers complain about.

The Order That Saves You a Second Pass

Work top down and dry surfaces last. Vacuum first, then clean the hard surfaces — dash, door cards, console — with Performance Interior Cleaner diluted for light duty. Do carpet and upholstery next, since that is where overspray and dwell time live. Clean leather with Leather Premium Cleaner and condition it with L3. Dress plastics with Plasti-K Xtreme Internal. Glass goes last — every product you have used so far off-gasses or oversprays onto it, and cleaning the glass first just means cleaning it twice.

Concentrate Multi-Purpose Cleaner & Degreaser — the shop APC. Dilutes 1:1 for heavy degreasing and much further for interior panels, door jambs and general shop cleaning, so one concentrate replaces several ready-to-use bottles.
Crystal Gleam Glass Cleaner — tint-safe and streak-free. Cuts the interior film that off-gassing plastics leave behind and flashes clean without the haze ammonia-based household cleaners leave on tinted glass. Works on the inside of steeply raked windshields.

Why does pH matter on a leather cleaner?

Automotive leather is finished with a protective topcoat, and that topcoat is what an aggressive cleaner attacks first. Push the pH too far in either direction and you strip it, dry the hide underneath, and start the cracking process the customer notices a year later. Leather Premium Cleaner is pH-balanced specifically so it can lift body oils out of the grain without touching the finish.

What is wrong with a silicone interior dressing?

Three things customers actually complain about: the greasy sheen, the glare it throws onto the windshield in low sun, and the way it attracts dust within a day of application. Plasti-K Xtreme Internal is non-silicone and finishes natural matte — the look a factory dashboard is supposed to have.

Do I need a separate cleaner for every interior surface?

No. Performance Interior Cleaner is listed safe across carpet, upholstery, plastic, vinyl and headliners, and you change strength by changing dilution rather than changing bottles — up to 1:15 for light work, stronger for heavily soiled production jobs. Leather is the exception: use the pH-balanced leather cleaner there.

Is Crystal Gleam safe on tinted windows?

Yes — it is formulated for automotive glass including tint, and it avoids the haze ammonia-based household cleaners leave behind. Spray onto the towel rather than the glass when you are working the inside of a raked windshield, and use two towels: one to clean, one to buff dry.

How do I get a smell out of a car?

Remove the source, do not cover it. Performance Interior Cleaner deodorizes as it cleans rather than adding fragrance on top, which is the right first move — most interior odour is in the carpet and upholstery.
