Symplex Car Wash Soap, SiO2 Foam & Waterless Wash

Three wash concentrates that cover every way a car gets cleaned. Platinum Car Wash is the pH-neutral shampoo at 7.0–7.5 — the number that matters if there is a coating or sealant underneath. Silica Wash SiO2 Super Foam builds thick foam-cannon lather and leaves SiO2 protection behind instead of stripping it. Silica Waterless Wash cleans with no running water at all, for mobile work, apartment garages and water-restricted regions.

All three are concentrates in quart, gallon and 5-gallon pail, so the per-wash cost stays low even in a busy bay. Pair them with a foam cannon, the 400 GSM plush drying towel, and the wheel and tire chemicals that come before the paint.

Why pH-Neutral Matters More Than Suds

Alkaline shampoos clean well. They also quietly shorten the life of everything underneath them — wax, sealant, coating. If a customer paid for six months of protection and gets three, an aggressive shampoo is the usual reason. Platinum is pH 7.0–7.5, and it recovers the cleaning power that neutrality normally costs through a proprietary blend of five premium anionic and non-ionic surfactants, plus high lubricity to reduce wash-induced marring. Dilution is published: 2 oz per 6 oz of water in a foam cannon, 3–4 oz per 4–5 gallons in a bucket.

Quick Guide: Which Symplex Wash?

Product What It Does Use It When
Platinum Car Wash pH 7.0–7.5, five-surfactant blend, high lubricity The car is coated, sealed or waxed and you want it to stay that way
Silica Wash SiO2 Super Foam Thick clinging foam that leaves SiO2 protection behind You run a foam cannon and want every wash to add protection
Silica Waterless Wash Encapsulates dirt into the towel, leaves silica behind There is no hose — mobile work, garages, water restrictions

Foam Is a Dwell Tool, Not a Photo Op

The reason thick foam matters is cling time. Foam that runs off in twenty seconds has not lifted anything; foam that stays on the panel gives the surfactants time to release grit before a mitt touches the paint, which is where most wash marring is prevented. Silica Wash is built for that dwell and adds SiO2 to the rinse behaviour on the way out. If your cannon is producing wet drizzle rather than shaving cream, the usual culprits are dilution and the machine's flow rate — our foam cannon soap guide works through both.

Symplex Car Wash FAQs

What is the dilution ratio for Symplex Platinum Car Wash?

2 oz of concentrate per 6 oz of water in a foam cannon bottle, or 3–4 oz per 4–5 gallons for a bucket wash. It is a concentrate, so a gallon covers a large number of vehicles — which is the point of buying at quart, gallon or pail rather than in ready-to-use bottles.

Is Symplex car wash soap safe on ceramic coatings?

Yes. Platinum is pH-neutral at 7.0–7.5 specifically so it will not strip wax, sealant or coating, and Silica Wash is listed safe over existing coatings, sealants and waxes while adding SiO2 during the wash. Neither is a stripping shampoo — if you need to strip protection before correction, that is what Look See Control Prep is for.

Does a waterless wash scratch paint?

Not if the chemistry does its job and the car is not caked in mud. The SiO2 formula in Silica Waterless Wash encapsulates dirt so it lifts into the towel rather than dragging across the paint. Use plenty of product, fold to a clean towel face often, and stop and use a hose if the car is genuinely filthy — a waterless wash is for light to moderate soil, not for a work truck.

Can I use Silica Wash in a bucket instead of a cannon?

Yes — it is listed for foam cannon, foam gun or bucket wash. You lose the pre-wash dwell that thick foam gives you, but the SiO2 still deposits during the wash. If you are working from a bucket most of the time, Platinum is the more economical everyday choice and you can add protection separately with a Spartan spray.

Which order do I wash in?

Wheels and tires first, paint second. The corners of a car are the dirtiest part and everything you do to them throws product around, so cleaning them after the paint means re-rinsing panels you already finished. See Symplex Wheel & Tire Care for that stage.
