Spartan SiO2 in use

The drying-aid method is the one that makes this product make sense. Wash the car, rinse it, and while the paint's still wet, mist a panel and pull it dry with a drying towel. The sealant goes down as you dry. You haven't added a step — you've changed one you were already doing.

Used the other way, on a dry car, it's a straight spray-and-wipe: mist the panel, spread with one towel, buff with a second. Neither method needs a cure window, a controlled environment, or a bay booked out overnight.

The Spartan family: three ways to apply the same idea

How to apply Spartan SiO2

Which size should you buy?

Spartan SiO2 comes in pint, quart, gallon and a 5 gallon pail, and the price curve is steep in your favour. The gallon costs roughly twice the pint for eight times the volume, so if you're using this weekly the pint is the expensive way to buy it.

Buy the pint to try it. If it earns a place in your routine, move up — the quart already cuts the cost per ounce by roughly 40% against the pint, and the gallon cuts it by roughly another 58% on top of that. The 5 gallon pail saves comparatively little beyond the gallon, so it's a storage decision more than a money one.

What to pair it with

A sealant is only as good as the wash underneath it. Two Symplex products do that job, and they're different tools.

Platinum Car Wash is pH neutral at 7.0-7.5, which is the number that matters when there's protection on the car already. Alkaline shampoos clean well and quietly shorten the life of everything underneath them. Who this isn't for

If you wash your car twice a year, this is the wrong product. One to two months of durability means a sealant that's gone before you get back to it, and you'd be better served by P2 or an actual coating.

It's also not a correction step, a cleaner, or a fix for degraded paint. It's a thin protective layer over whatever's underneath — and if what's underneath is swirled, it'll be swirled and glossy.

Verdict: is Spartan SiO2 worth it?

Yes, if you wash often. The case for this bottle isn't durability — it's that the durability doesn't have to be long when the application is this cheap in time. A drying aid you use every wash keeps protection on the car continuously, and that's a different thing from a six-month sealant you apply twice and forget.
