Professional Strength Tar & Adhesive Removal

Spray it on, let it dwell, and stubborn tar and asphalt soften so they wipe away without heavy scrubbing. It earns its place in the decontamination stage right alongside iron removal, before you polish, coat or wax. Avoid sensitive plastics and acrylic paint, and don't use it in direct sun or on a hot surface. On a sealant or wax, CarPro says TarX will most likely affect some of its properties, so plan to reapply.

How to Use It

• Start on a washed, dry, cool surface so you can actually see the tar you're targeting.
• Spray TarX on the contaminated area, or brush or wipe it on, and let it dwell for up to 2 minutes. Never let it dry.
• Wipe off the residue with a microfiber towel and reapply as needed. When you're done, clean the area with CARPRO Reset or Ech2o.

1 Liter or 500ml?

The liter is the right call if you detail regularly, drive a truck that collects road tar, or handle customer cars — full-body decon burns through product faster than you'd think. For occasional spot duty on a single garage-kept car, the TarX 500ml covers you at a lower buy-in.

Can I use TarX on a waxed or sealed car?

Yes, but plan to reapply your protection. CarPro says TarX will most likely affect some of the properties of a sealant or wax, and they will need to be reapplied afterward. It positions TarX as a step before polishing, coating or waxing.

What's the difference between TarX and IronX?

They handle different halves of the contamination picture. TarX dissolves sticky contamination — tar, asphalt, adhesive — while IronX chemically removes embedded iron and brake dust. A full decontamination before polishing typically uses both.

What surfaces should I avoid?

CarPro says to avoid sensitive plastics and acrylic paint, and to test TarX in a hidden area first. On PPF, work a cool, small section at a time and don't let it sit longer than 30 seconds.
